If you're new to E-Learning, browse through these
tips before you start.
All courses use
blended learning. Courses are organised by
topics. There's a recommended sequence of topics, but it's not mandatory - follow whatever you think sutis you best. At all times, you can see what other students are doing, you can discuss with them and tap into their experience.
You sign up either for a course or a set of courses, discuss the recommended duration with the instructor, and get started. In most courses, you can modify the schedule if you find it's needed. That's what we mean by
self-paced learning.
The only exceptions to this are courses which have pre-scheduled
instructor-led sessions. Your instructor may need to coordinate with other students or check his / her schedule for other courses.
All courses come with recommended and / or mandatory
pre-requisites and
references. Courseware consists of
written instructions,
audio-visual lectures (pre-recorded, so you can view them at your convenience), and
quizzes. Some courses have
assignments which you complete and upload. Some course also offer
peer-evaluation. Several courses also refer to resources such as the
NPTEL Project.
