Projects, intended for students of Mechanical / Production / Aeronautical Engineering, are "validated" - that is, they are derived from application areas and technology areas that are relevant to companies represented in the Review Panel. Project Schedules are redrawn to match students' academic commitments, and confidential data is modified / sanitized to permit student usage.
All projects are in the areas of virtual-prototyping / simulation only. Software support is provided, including relevant training, but not the software itself. We recommend that the student pick software that is available in his / her college.
Students taking up these projects must be capable of committing to the published time-schedule. Some projects may involve technologies (such as composite materials, component mode synthesis, plastic deformation formulae, etc.) that are not normally covered in the undergraduate curriculum. Support will be provided for these, and students must commit to researching these areas.
Projects are drawn from areas that are relevant to and practiced by one or more members of the Review Panel. Every project will involve one or more of the following areas: Tool Design, Aerospace Applications, Automotive / Vehicle Design Applications, Defense / Special-project applications.
